ABOUT JEFF GAUTREAU

Science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of knowledge” – Carl Sagan I am a friendly, organized, detail-oriented professional with more than 8 years experience in the geophysical industry. Throughout the course of my career, I’ve worked in minerals, potash, and oil & gas exploration. I have been exposed to a wide range of geophysical acquisition methods and their applications, both in the office and the field. The variety has allowed me to uniquely provide solutions to my employers and their clients. My most recent geophysics position was planning and acquiring 2D, 3D, and 4D seismic surveys in western Canada. Prior to that, I spent several years in the field QCing land seismic and acquiring a variety of non-seismic geophysical surveys. I have also processed and interpreted airborne magnetic data. I am passionate about the geophysics industry and have been giving back to industry through volunteering with the CSEG/CAGC for the last 9 years. My contributions have been varied in scope and responsibility, from assisting during the day of an event to helping found the JGF (http://cseg.ca/social/jgf) to guiding and coordinating the annual CAGC – Seismic in Motion Much of the volunteering is focused on educational and outreach programs related to seismic and geophysics. Currently, I am seeking geophysics opportunities that will allow me to use my diverse skill and to continue to further expand my skills.
