Brief Career Summary:While at FDA in the Office of the Commissioner, Office of the Chief Scientist, Office of Scientific Professional Development (OSPD), Jeff coordinated several FDA-wide programs that strengthen FDA’s scientific workforce. Additionally, he helped FDA subject matter experts in developing and implementing internal and external training events. From 20••••21, Jeff coordinated the Commissioner’s Fellowship Program (CFP), a scientific workforce recruitment and retention mechanism and managed the CFP’s regulatory track to ensure that all participants completed program activities. He oversaw the annual FDA 101 Training. Jeff organized the FDA Annual Student Scientific Research Days and helped with the development and implementation of the new FDA Research and Science Traineeship Program. Jeff served as the Agency FDA ORISE Research Fellowship Program coordinator as well as the coordinator for the Office of the Chief Scientist ORISE Fellowship Program.He is experienced with Instructional Systems Design, Project Management, HHS/ Learning Management System (LMS) administration, and Adobe Connect Administration for the Office of the Commissioner (OC). Jeff earned a BA in Law and Policy Studies from Dickinson College in 2008. He joined FDA in 2008 as part of the team hired to support the CFP by FDA’s first Chief Scientist, Dr. Frank Torti, and then became a training specialist in OSPD.Related Skills/Career Information:Professional experience has involved program management/coordination (serving as the FDA Commissioner’s Fellowship Program Coordinator, FDA ORISE Program, and FDA Research and Science Traineeship Program Coordinator), FDA in-person and virtual training coordination, planning, and implementation using Instructional Systems Design (ISD), working as a Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) for the FDA, PA state level USDA Farm Bill funded program support at Capital Resource Conservation & Development, public relations, office clerical/administrative work, research and writing, and political/social advocacy.I am currently in search of: Training Specialist, Fellowship, Internship/Traineeship Program coordination, Post.
