Musician turned web developer turned ops/infrastructure engineer turned engineering manager.My experience learning and playing music gives me insights on the need to be creative within boundaries, something equally applicable to music and tech. As the WordPress folks famously say, code is poetry.I’m proficient with Chef, Puppet, Terraform, HashiCorp Vault, HashiCorp Consul, Ruby, Git (and version control in general), NGINX, Apache, AWS, HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, Macintosh help desk support, and can rapidly gain a working knowledge of most technologies.I’ve installed, configured, and managed Elasticsearch, Spark, Cassandra, ZooKeeper, Consul, and Vault clusters, written and help maintain dozens of Chef cookbooks, have working knowledge of networking (primarily through experience with AWS), and have lead teams of ops engineers in building and maintaining the infrastructure necessary to support a services-oriented architecture for a SaaS product.
