What would you do to develop a strategy to maximize the value of your company\'s intellectual property? I assume you would want to know more than just the tactics used to handle specific situations. How would you feel if you learned that the big picture strategy you hoped to pursue had failed in the past? What if you had overlooked a previously successful approach? Wouldn\'t you want to know as much as possible about to how to protect your groundbreaking invention? I work with companies developing technologies in chemical and life sciences field to build and protect their IP position. Below are a few highlights of my past experience: ZS Pharma, Inc. handled all aspects of company\'s intellectual property from drafting initial patent applications at the inception of the company through several rounds of funding, IPO, and $2.7B acquisition. Lead counsel for petitioner in Smith & Nephew v. Convatec, 98, successfully invalidated all challenged claims of two patents, decision affirmed in Convatec Techs. v. Smith & Nephew, Case No. 14-1822 (Fed. Cir. Aug. 10, 2015) Lead counsel for patent owner Gowan v. Aceto, IPR20••••76, successfully defended patent and obtained decision confirming all challenged claims. My technical background is in chemical engineering. I began my career in as a patent examiner.
