Jeff is a seasoned executive driving strategy and growth.Jeff Almoney worked at General Motors Corporation and LLC as a Global Director, Information Systems and Services from February 2006 until April 2022.Previously, Almoney spent 6 years at Reynolds and Reynolds Company as Chief Technology Officer. He was responsible for the research, architecture, and global technical strategy development of the company.Before joining Reynolds, Almoney spent 14 years in various high-tech positions at the Pennsylvania State University. He spent the last ten as Director of Advanced Information Technologies working with industry to develop solutions. Almoney was also the Penn State Director of Applications Development for the University-led Internet 2 project. Almoney left Penn State and joined a startup, Competitive Local Exchange Carrier, as Chief Technology and Information Officer at State College, Pennsylvania, in 1998.Mr. Almoney also worked as a research staff member at IBM Research in Yorktown Heights, NY, from 1981 to 1983. His focus at IBM was Operating Systems and Advanced Networking.Mr. Almoney was instrumental in forming the Dayton Metropolitan Internet Exchange (DMIX). This facility, located in Dayton, Ohio, provides high bandwidth and low latency to all high-technology organizations at home and at work in the Dayton, Ohio, region. Mr. Almoney has also been active in the Internet Enablement of the State College Pennsylvania Area Schools. Professional affiliations include the Association of Computing Machinery, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Computer Society, and the External Board of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Wright State University.Mr. Almoney has been recognized by IDG’s Computerworld, the “Voice of IT Management,” as one of the business world’s 2004 Premier 100 IT Leaders.Specialties: Technology Research, evaluation, deployment, and operations.All posts are my own.
