Responsible for total alignment and execution of advocacy plans to achieve business objectives before the Executive, Legislative, and Regulatory branches at state and local levels of government in Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas.• Contribute to substantial P&L growth by working with state insurance departments to gain approval on products and push to market in a timely manner. Assist sales teams in securing government sector clients and work with states on market conduct examinations to mitigate corporate risk. • Manage team of lobbyists across five states to stay up to date on evolving legislation. • Communicate regularly with internal cross-functional teams, including communications, contracting, sales, legal, and medical personnel regarding impactful legislation. Provide government relations counsel to sales team on government sector business. • Host, “Capitol Connections” podcast on the latest state government trends with interviews with industry and regulators.• Collaborate with counterparts from competing companies as needed to defeat harmful legislation and secure passed bills that benefit the industry as a whole.
