ABOUT JEFF SCHLEGEL

I am the head of Jones Day\'s global energy practice, with over 30 years of focusing on transactional matters for participants in the entire energy value chain, including upstream, midstream and downstream hydrocarbons, LNG, renewable energy and sustainable development/decarbonization, chemicals/petrochemicals, and polyolefins and catalysts. My experience includes M&A, project development, joint ventures and commercial transactions involving almost every major energy center in the world.My M&A experience includes public and private buy-side, sell-side and joint venture transactions in the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas industry, chemicals/petrochemicals, renewable energy and energy transition investments and other capital intensive industries. My project development experience encompasses transactional, structuring, engineering, procurement, construction, operations, and other commercial arrangements. I have also has represented domestic and multinational companies in a variety of public and private transactions, including inbound and outbound investment, and cross-border transactions in a wide range of industries in Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and North America.My recent engagements include more than $450 billion of: midstream and downstreamenergy projects, joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, and financings, particularly in the U.S. active oil and gas shale plays; LNG import and export projects and transactions in North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia; refining, chemicals logistics and other downstream transactions in the U.S. and the Asia/Pacific region; solar, battery electric storage, carbon capture, advanced materials recycling and other energy transition matters in the US; the development of multiple world-scale facilities; oil field services transactions in the U.S, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe; and renewables and energy transitions investments around the world.
