Pastor and Projects ManagerHeirloom East Bay is the latest iteration of intentional community that was developed out of a church that longed to be a good neighbor to their community. When we first launched, we focused on developing an internship program for young adults that existed for 7 years in the Bay Area. Having hosted 36 short term interns (2 years or less) we saw the need for a permanent location that was different than a typical church space. We moved to our current property in the summer of 2019 and began restoring the space as a home base for ministry related to hospitality, agriculture, and creativity.Intentional Community: 12 residents live full time on the property and our community includes additional members who are committed to our rule of life and participate in our communal rhythms. We consider all of life as worshipful and we believe shared life allows us to express our faith in beautiful, challenging, and holistic ways. We gather for fellowship and spiritual formation, explore alternative economic practices, offer hospitality, and pursue a life of justice and compassion.
