ABOUT JEFF PETERSON

A few (ok, more than a few) years ago, I landed my first sales job when my former employer, AmeriPride Services, was both dumb and desperate enough to hire someone (me) who had no sales experience or training, and frankly few other marketable skills-but I did have a pulse and they must have figured that was good enough. I didn\'t sell much for the first 4 months (it was probably more like 9, honestly) but, in addition to a pulse, I also had a solid work ethic, a natural curiosity, and above average emotional intelligence. Mostly, I had the luxury of learning from a group of really smart people that I was happy to steal ideas from. I ended up figuring it out and having a bunch of success, and defining what it meant to me. Those things were and still are: multiple President\'s Clubs, leading and mentoring sales reps to do the same, facilitating training and being a thought leader for other salespeople, and helping prospects solve problems. And trying to have as much fun as I can doing it. Fifteen-ish years later, I\'m still fortunate enough to be doing the same things, and they\'re things that hopefully achieve the mutually beneficial outcome of assisting those I come across while giving me a lot of personal satisfaction. Whether it\'s leading, selling, training, writing, or speaking, I\'m here to add value where I can while continuing to get better and refine what success means for all the stakeholders in my journey-whether they\'re customers, bosses, direct reports, colleagues, readers or listeners, it\'s my sincere belief that I can do that.
