Responsible for co-ordinating work across Salford Care Organisation (part of the Northern Care Alliance), Salford City Council, Salford NHS CCG and Greater Manchester Mental Health trust to improve the quality of care homes in Salford.On the day I started, Salford was ranked 150 out of 151 local authority areas in England for the quality of care homes as judged by CQC ratings, with over 60% of homes rated Inadequate or Requires Improvement. By October 2020 Salford was ranked 32nd in England with less than 15% of homes rated Requires Improvement and no homes rated as Inadequate.All homes in Salford are rated Good for Caring and Responsive by CQC as of October 2020; one of only two areas in England to achieve this.The Salford Care Home Story describing the work done since 2017 was shortlisted for a HSJ Value Award in 2020.
