Plans, organizes, and directs all aspects of the Military and Veterans Affairs and maintains operational responsibility over the Military and Veteran Success Center. Cultivates and fosters working relationships with state and local business and community based entities to create mentoring, internship, and employment opportunities for student veterans. Works closely with UCM Alumni Relations & Development to build a strong veteran alumni membership. Represents the University on matters related to Military and Veterans Services and on related programs and services to both academic and student service internal and external constituents. Develops and oversees a comprehensive veteran services program that increases retention and promotes degree completion in line with university objectives. Develops measures for identifying students at risk for academic failure and implements early intervention techniques to promote academic success; works with campus departments such as Violence and Substance Abuse Prevention, Academic Enrichment, Counseling Center etc. Assures the quality of services provided by the Military and Veteran Success Center to military, veteran and dependent students and ensures university compliance with Department of Defense Memorandum of Understanding, and Veterans Affairs directives. Supervises the Assistant Director of the Military and Veteran Success Center and a part-time student worker who supports the CCoRC coalition.

I am a rare hybrid. I have the education of human resource professional paired with the outstanding communication skills and the talent for rapport building of a Marketing Specialist. These combined skills provide the ability to handle large-scale Project Management.While serving the United States Air Force honorably for 11 years I obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management. My professional and military careers spanning 27 years have allowed me to experience a variety of employment opportunities and professional environments including a diverse population of individuals. These experiences include project management, hiring, team/relationship building, presentation/facilitation at local, state and national levels, supervision/employee evaluation, budgeting/accounting, work scheduling, on- the- job training, procurement and resource/human management responsibilities. I also completed the requirements for a Masters of Arts in Mass Communication.
