Founded in 1957, Independent Electrical Contractors of Oregon, IEC, is a non-profit association dedicated to supporting, educating, and promoting professional, open market contractors. IEC provides value to member companies through a variety of activities, in addition to serving as an educational provider through apprenticeship training and other industry training activities. The apprenticeship program partners with Chemeketa Community College in offering an amazing training program. • Supervise all IEC apprenticeship and continuing education Instructors.• Manage partnerships with state and local entities.• Oversee all aspects of the classroom and remote training for apprenticeship programs, including setting up and implementing all training activities as approved by the CEO and Board of Directors.• Enhance and maintain all classrooms and labs in order to provide for an environment conducive to learning.• Coordinate classroom presentations and labs with the local manufacturers, representatives and electrical supply houses to bring the latest technologies into the classroom.• Develop classes designed to provide educational growth to IEC member journeymen and supporting the Chapter’s workforce development initiatives.• Expand training programs and partnerships throughout the state.• Collaborate with other IEC chapters and IEC National in curriculum and program development.• Direct annual financial budget.• Work with other members of the IEC, school, staff, to ensure that all training related duties, tasks, and responsibilities are completed in a timely manner.• Work with other community based organizations to develop programs and secure funding to attract a new generation of electricians, particularly women and minorities.
