About Jeff Giullian
Dr. Giullian serves as the Chief Medical Officer of DaVita, a kidney care company dedicated to improving the holistic care and experience of patients suffering from kidney disease. Dr. G, as he is often referred to, received his MD from Vanderbilt University and his MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver. As CMO of DaVita, he is focused on transforming healthcare, reducing the global burden of kidney disease and restoring fulfillment for physicians caring for vulnerable patients.Dr. Giullian served on the board of directors for the Renal Physicians Association and as Chairman of the Healthcare Payment Committee. He also served as one of RPAs advisors at the AMA Revenue Utilization Committee. He has received certificate-level training (CPPS) in patient safety from the Institute of Healthcare Improvement and is passionate about work that improves patient well-being, while reducing disparities.Previously at DaVita, Dr. Giullian served as the Chief Medical Officer for Hospital Services where he strived to improve the quality and experience of dialysis, ultrafiltration and plasmapheresis at hospitals across the country. As the National Group Medical Director, Dr. Giullian helped manage quality outcomes for outpatient dialysis centers nationwide. Prior management responsibilities include multiple medical directorships, Chairman of Medicine and Chief of Nephrology at two community hospitals near Denver and Group Medical Director for the 11-state APEX region of DaVita. His business philosophy is straightforward: He believes that care delivery can be value-based and streamlined by focusing on operational efficiency and market share. Dr. Giullian has been active in medical, pharmaceutical and device marketing consulting and peer education. He has served as a KOL for several pharmaceutical companies and venture capital firms in the area of nephrology and internal medicine.
