About Jeff George

Global healthcare investor, board director and chairman, and former global CEO of Sandoz and Alcon, two $10 billion revenue subsidiaries of Novartis Group (NYSE: NVS), where Jeff served on the Executive Committee between 2008 and 2016. Jeff is currently the Managing Partner of Maytal Capital, a healthcare-focused venture capital and private equity investment and advisory firm he founded in 2017 which has made over 45 direct investments. Between 2022 and 2025, he also served as Chairman of CNS-focused biopharma company Lykos Therapeutics.Between 2008 and 2016, Jeff served on the Executive Committee of Switzerland-based Novartis Group AG, one of the world\'s largest pharmaceutical companies, first as CEO & Division Head of now publicly-listed Sandoz, Novartis’s then nearly $10 billion generic pharmaceuticals and biosimilars subsidiary headquartered in Munich, Germany which doubled in value during his tenure, and then as CEO & Division Head of Texas-based Alcon, Novartis’s then ~$10 billion eye care subsidiary which since 2019 has been publicly listed (NYSE: ALC). In both of these roles at Novartis, Jeff was responsible for leading over associates globally across more than 160 countries and had leadership and management responsibility for all functions, regions, and franchises. Prior to this he held leadership roles at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Novartis Vaccines, Gap Inc, and McKinsey & Co.Jeff holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he studied international economics and emerging markets political economy and was a John W. Watzek Fellow. He received his B.A. in international relations from Carleton College, where he graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
