I am the Founder and CEO of American Gene Technologies® (AGT™), where we are developing gene and cell therapies designed to cure some of humanity’s most devastating diseases.Our lead program is a potential functional cure for HIV that has been evaluated in human clinical trials. While antiretroviral drugs have transformed HIV care, they still require lifelong treatment. Data from those trials demonstrate safety and therapeutic effect, supporting the possibility that HIV could be durably suppressed with a one-time treatment that eliminates the need for lifelong medication.Beyond HIV, AGT is advancing gene therapy programs targeting solid tumor cancers and phenylketonuria (PKU).
