Serving a passionate, resilient, creative team providing relevant community learning opportunities. Creating and managing multi-faceted initiatives across the Department, College, Community, and State. Encouraging conceptual discussions, navigating change, and providing overall strategy to lead transformative experiences. What we do.Develop meaningful and impactful relationships that create learning opportunities across our community.Top Achievements include: Created Extended Learning Department from 5 previously disparate programs: Created and developed new processes and systems for interprogram collaboration and innovation. Built safety and trust with staff that had previously lived on the periphery of the College system. Developed new ways to conceptualize the work, including new business models in each program, and never before seen department business models. Result: A dynamic and innovative team that leads in their respective programs across the State. In year 1 grew business from the previous year by 110%, and in year 2 grew our business another 110%, which included serving hundreds of more local people with robust programming. At the onset of COVID-19, led the creation of 5 new business models, which included taking 100% experiential in-person education completely remote. The department is now recognized as a leader in remote noncredit education across the State.

ABOUT JEFF FLESCH
Growing up in Los Angeles in the 80\'s I was mostly interested in punk rock and skateboarding. I started working in the private sector at the age of 16, and after spending 17 years doing so (working for companies, such as Nabisco, Pepsico, US FOODS, and Odwalla Juice) I chose to go back to school to study Sociology. After attaining my Master\'s degree in Human Development and Family Studies, my number one priority was finding practical ways to increase access to higher education for everyone, especially nontraditional and under-served populations, which I get to do now every day. And, YES, I still listen to punk rock, though the skateboard stays mostly in the closet.
