My career path has been influenced and shaped by mentors who have paved the pathway for change in how healthcare is delivered. The United States outpaces any other country in healthcare expenditures. One would expect that such investments would materialize into a flawlessly functioning system. Instead, our system is fragmented, complicated, inefficient, and frustrating to interact with. Despite our shortcomings, I believe that no other nation has furthered the mission of improving the quality of life of it’s citizens as the United States has, but there is so much more that we can do! My goal is to be part of the wave of healthcare leaders that engages in continuous process improvement, leverages technological solutions, and improves our healthcare delivery system to be cost efficient and “harmonious”. As an operations manager with a background in allied sciences who has a passion for chronic disease management, I believe that healthcare goes beyond the four walls of an acute care center. I like to focus on how we can best map a patient’s journey along the continuum of care and how to optimize the workings of the components that support it.
