The media often fails at communicating scientific stories to the general public, typically by diluting and dumbing down the message so much that it\'s no longer coherent or in context. There is a real need to communicate better if we want our society to be receptive to scientific information regarding real world concerns such as climate change and a general embrace of empirical, objective information. Spectral Instruments, Inc. manufactures CCD and CMOS camera systems custom-built for specific applications using a variety of sensors from multiple manufacturers. We specialize in detecting very faint signals with large format cameras built to last, with the lowest failure rates in the industry.
