About Jeff Brover
In eighth grade, I visited Rice University and told them I wanted to be a sport management major with their program so that I could one day work as a baseball analyst. They were nice about it, but they laughed the visit off. After all, who starts looking at college before they start high school? Four years later, the department was shocked and excited to find out that I had applied and been accepted Early Decision, signifying my long-standing desire to work in the sports industry.Today, I am proud to say I am a recent graduate of Rice University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Analytics and Statistics. During my time there, I worked as a team manager for their basketball team and an analytics intern for their baseball team, utilizing Trackman and Synergy pitch tracking to improve player performance. My first college summer, I stayed in the city of Houston to work as an event operations intern for the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority preparing for the upcoming 55th AAU Junior Olympics. Next, I spent a summer in Normal, IL working as a Baseball Analytics Intern for the Normal Cornbelters and Kernels Collegiate League (KCL). Finally, my third summer took me to St. Petersburg, Florida as a Baseball Research and Development Intern with the Tampa Bay Rays. Those that have gotten to know me would say I am a hard-working, honest, creative, and an analytical problem solver. I am a diehard fan of the Cleveland Browns as well as the Florida Panthers, my hometown hockey team. Some other fun facts about me are that I have attended a game at all 30 MLB ballparks, visited over 175 National Parks, bowled a 221 as a captain of my high school varsity bowling team, and can play the double bass.
