Estimating management, measurement, and improvement:• Reviewing bidding process to seek improvements and efficiencies• Managing estimating calendar and prioritizing bid opportunities to ensure sufficient time for each opportunity being bid• Delegating takeoff and estimating duties to Estimator(s) as required• Pursuing projects using “must-win” strategy and aim of achieving a high percentage close-ratio• Following-up on all submitted proposals to learn outcome, understand choice matrix, and improve future bidding• Thinking strategically before, during, and after bidding period on ways to improve chances of winning bidEstimating:• Reading, reviewing, and interpreting all tender documentation including drawings, specifications and addenda• Identifying extraordinary project requirements and/or tender document inconsistencies for review by RFI to GC• Completing quantity takeoffs to determine specific material and labour requirements needed to complete project• Contacting GCs, architects, and designers with questions and suggestions related to project drawings and documents• Confirming material & labour quantities prior to generation of purchase and work orders for awarded projects• Reviewing, quantifying, and pricing PCNs, SIs, RFIs, and other project related requests & changes
