The company is executing a clean energy transition and Mr. Barnett is leading a set of information solution investments to support achievement of these carbon reduction goals.Mr. Barnett is currently a General Manager (GM) focused on implementation of Duke Energy’s Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). In this role since August 2021, he leads a team of both business and information technology experts to consolidate and standardize processes and technologies related to advanced control and operations of the electric grid. This includes SCADA, Distribution Management Systems (DMS) and Outage Management Systems (OMS) used in five Distribution Control Centers (DCC) supporting six regulated electric utility operating companies. The multi-year technology-enabled business transformation will also deploy advanced electric grid capabilities such as Closed Loop Fault Isolation and Service Restoration (CLFISR), advanced fault location capabilities, multiple voltage regulation routines and Distributed Energy Resource (DER) management capabilities. Mr. Barnett is accountable for delivering expected ADMS capabilities and benefits for the business with predictable schedule and cost. He works across a complex set of stakeholders to understand expectations, collaborates with with his Program leadership team to set direction for the program, and guides the diverse team of in-house experts plus vendors. Mr. Barnett drives Program alignment with business unit, operating company and corporate strategic and financial objectives.Prior to his current position, Mr. Barnett served in the following roles at Duke Energy- GM, Advanced Systems & Infrastructure Programs, Jan 2020 - Aug 2021- GM, Technology Performance (functional support and technology planning)- Director, EAM Portfolio, Oct 2016 - Dec 2017
