ABOUT JEFF ASAY
Jeff is passionate about sustainability solutions and the transition to clean energy. His practice focuses on regulatory, transactional, and project development/finance matters in the energy and utilities industries.Prior to joining PG & E, Jeff was an Energy Associate at international law firms Winston & Strawn and Sheppard Mullin for 6 years. Jeff started his post-graduation legal career as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Administrative Law Judges (ALJ) Division of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), where he assisted the ALJs on all types of proceedings before the CPUC. He had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of issues related to utilities and administrative agencies, including taxes, resource/capacity planning, rate design, procurement, environmental compliance, safety enforcement, and efficiency/conservation. Previously, Jeff spent a summer at Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy in San Francisco. As a law clerk, Jeff worked on immigration and mobility matters for a wide range of corporate clients. During law school, Jeff was Senior Editor of UCLA Law Review and served as a research assistant to Professor Timothy Malloy, performing research on the Toxic Substances Control Act and a number of initiatives for the Sustainable Technology & Policy Program.
