ABOUT JEEVANATH AVAROTH

I am a Safety professional with 25 years of experience in Energy, Oil and Gas related industry. Skilled at mastery level in Operational, Behavioral, Project HSSE management and Process Safety aspects; and in soft skills such as change management, facilitation, business partnering - a combination of technical and soft skills that are important in integrating HSE Risk Management and safety leadership in complex business and operational context. My core expertise is in diagnosing safety culture and supporting an organisational change journey towards Goal Zero focusing on Safety Leadership at senior, middle level and at frontline levels. I believe in creating a culture of discipline and commitment where people want to do safety rather than pushing for compliance. I have supported implementation of several safety change programs aimed at linking the safety leadership vision to the frontline behaviors. In my role as behavior safety manager of a global upstream oil and gas business, I have supported the journey to Goal Zero culture by focusing on the positive aspects of Life saving rules, front-line safety practices and safety recognitions for interventions to support and creating a culture of care and people wanting to be safe. I have led several safety assurance reviews, incident investigations, projects HSE studies and Safety Leadership activities in multi-cultural environment in upstream and downstream oil and gas sectors.
