ABOUT JEEVAN SAHOTA
I am an MSc Automotive Engineering and BEng Mechanical Engineering graduate focused on building a career in the motorsport industry. Through projects in both academia and the engineering industry, I already have developed hands-on experience in mechanical design and aerodynamics. This includes a Formula Student dissertation project where I designed and developed a front wing aerodynamic package, using ANSYS Fluent to conduct single and multi-element aerofoil analysis to optimise aerodynamic performance. In addition to my academic work, I have gained industry experience working as a Student Product Support Engineer at Niftylift, where I took on leadership roles in design projects for developing steel fabrication brackets to address metal fatigue issues, while improving assembly practices and overall safety. This work required collaborating with senior engineers and incorporating feedback from production technicians. Furthermore, utilising engineering tools such as ANSYS Mechanical for finite element analysis and computer-aided design packages such as Creo Parametric and SOLIDWORKS, have been essential in translating engineering problems into practical, manufacturable solutions. Working in both individual and team environments has strengthened my attention to detail, problem-solving, and the ability to deliver under strict deadlines, which are all key attributes to deliver in high-performance engineering environments. Alongside actively pursuing graduate roles, I will be volunteering as a track marshal throughout 2026 with the British Motorsports Marshals Club to help broaden my horizons of live trackside environments. I am particularly interested in opportunities within motorsport, aerodynamics and vehicle performance engineering. I am open to a range of opportunities – including graduate roles, internships, and project-based work – to further develop my experience in these areas.
