As a Field Engineer for the Utah Department of Transportation, I bridge the gap between engineering design and field execution to ensure that infrastructure projects are delivered safely and efficiently. I collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including engineers, project managers, and contractors—to review plans and specifications during the design phase, specifically identifying potential constructability issues before they impact the timeline. My daily responsibilities include overseeing construction activities to maintain strict adherence to UDOT standards and safety requirements while managing vital documentation like change orders and payment estimates. By approving technical submittals and conducting detailed field inspections, I ensure that every project phase meets high-level engineering quality control benchmarks.
