I support large-scale distribution centres and manufacturers to streamline their end-of-line packaging operations. Blue-sky ideas about improving logistics efficiency are what I thrive on. Those ambitious changes dreamed up by engineers, procurement officers and ops managers give me a chance to get creative about matching the right machinery to a concept. I equally enjoy seeing how a small but fundamental change in end-of-line logistics can have a far-reaching impact on a company’s overall cost reduction and labour efficiencies. Seeing those gains is a pretty cool part of the job. In an industry that’s about to see big changes on the ground in the coming decade, I’ve got the advantage of experience. My relationships with large-scale distribution centres in New Zealand and overseas have given me insight into best practice and forward-thinking strategy.
