I lead a multidisciplinary team of security, cloud, and software engineers responsible for cloud security architecture, perimeter defense, bot management, and AI security across Fanatics’ AWS-based commerce platform.We developed the Secure Edge Automated Control System (SEAC): a dynamic, defense-in-depth tuning framework that leverages edge (Akamai), origin WAF controls, SOAR automation, machine learning, and AI-driven detection to continuously adapt security posture in real time, while promoting a lightweight operations center. Our cloud security control plane enforces secure-by-default guardrails across AWS multi-account environments, IAM and privilege boundaries, Terraform governance, WAF and bot policy, automated threat detection, and AI abuse prevention— systematically reducing misconfiguration risk while protecting high-volume global commerce during peak moments.As an engineering leader, I hire, coach, and cultivate high-performing engineers while fostering psychological safety, accountability, and operational rigor. I define long-term technical vision and scalable security “paved roads” that balance risk with business velocity.I partner cross-functionally across Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, and Information Security—translating business context into resilient cloud security boundaries that enable secure, scalable growth.
