Justice and Joy National Collaborative (formerly National Crittenton) is an intergenerational interracial/ethnic gender and racial justice advocacy and organizing nonprofit working across the country with and for girls, young women and gender expansive young people of color. Through policy and system change, collaborative research, and liberation in practice/civic engagement – we join with partners across the country to address root causes advancing a world in which all young people can achieve their potential and live unapologetic, liberated lives without fear of violence or injustice. Our mission is to boldly advance social, economic and political justice advocating with and for girls, young women and gender expansive young people of color, centering the leadership of those most impacted by chronic generational adversity and broken systems. Working across a broad range of issue areas such as fixing democracy, ensuring reproductive justice, radical re-imagination of child welfare and youth justice systems, eradication of gender based violence in all its forms, healthy equity, advancing the needs and potential of young mothers, and much more. With staff and partners in more than 48 states our advocacy and organizing efforts are rooted in the needs and power of local communities to craft, drive and sustain positive powerful change. From 20••••19 served as Co-Director/Director of the National Girls Initiative for the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Program/Office of Justice Programs/US Department of Justice.
