ABOUT JEAN DESROSIERS

I started at the bottom of the ladder, way back in 1986. I was in the service for three years (Air) as a radiotechnician. Upon my release, I worked for the phone company - NBTel - for three years as lineman and mobility technician. I Completed a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 1997 and an MBA in 2001. I managed technical operations at Cogeco Cable (fourth largest cable company in Canada) for four years total. There, I managed several company encompassing projects such as the implementation of vehicular terminals for all technicians, which saved the company countless dollars and hours in double manipulation of data. At the Wind Energy TechnoCentre, I turned around a not-for-profit that was on the verge of bankruptcy. I renewed governance and obtained over 8M$ in government funding. As a Technical Business Analyst for the National Research Council of Canada from September \'07 to March \'13, I provided competitive technical intelligence for the Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP). I am now an Industrial Technology Advisor at IRAP, helping deliver the program to small and medium businesses in the Atlantic/Nunavut Region. IRAP is Canada\'s premiere innovation and technology assistance program, supporting small and medium-sized businesses across Canada by providing financial, technological and networking assistance.
