As CMIO for Baylor Scott & White Health, I have the privilege to lead a team which serves a critical role between Information Services and Clinical Operations in successfully delivering strategic technology solutions across this diverse organization. Key initiatives include enhancing caregiver efficiency and closing gaps in care through EMR optimizations, EHR/technology training, facilitating organizational goals and IS resource management. Utilizing transparency, collaboration and diplomacy our team implements solutions to meet needs of an integrated network with 51 hospitals and 1,100+ access points. As physician lead for the largest Epic Systems implementation in Texas (and Top 10 nationwide), I have been instrumental in developing enterprise-wide EMR governance to standardize and prioritize organizational strategies; partnering with IS for upgrade support and communication; and helping to ensure reporting and analytics success with workflow and build. Accomplishments: BUILDING CONSENSUS on order sets, workflow standardization and EHR optimizations while striving for fairness and transparency. SUPPORTING PROVIDER ADOPTION through Accelerate, BSWH’s CME-accredited provider efficiency program which was recognized by the KLAS ARCH Collaborative for its role in increasing EMR satisfaction and personalization levels while striving to also decrease provider burnout REENVISIONING INFORMATICS. Alignment of Physician Informatics, Nursing Informatics, Ambulatory Informatics and EHR training teams from across the enterprise into a single department to provide a continuum for technology training, optimization and support for users.
