My broad-based legal experience, adaptability, and relationship-building talents result from my diverse career, which includes serving as a judicial clerk in federal bankruptcy court, a shareholder at an AmLaw 100 firm, and in-house with a startup organization.I know how to navigate complex legal issues in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative and efficient problem-solver, I enjoy driving solutions for my clients that are both pragmatic and cost-effective. I realize that law doesn’t operate in a vacuum; that real-life situations inform policy and decisions. I therefore have learned to quickly shift legal approaches to match changing end-goals. I am also adept at knowing when to negotiate amicably or litigate tenaciously to reach the desired result.Achievements highlights: Guided a global e-commerce marketplace in developing an internal protocol that will comply with collection statutes and protect the company when judgment creditors attempt to enforce monetary judgments against its sellers. Obtained summary judgment, affirmed on appeal, on behalf of CMBS trustee on cross-collateralized loans secured by a shopping center, allowing foreclosure and entry of final judgment on a $136M commercial guaranty obligation. Won summary judgment in excess of $33M for secured lender to foreclose its loan for historic hotel rehabilitation and construction, including $4.5M for certain “Yield Maintenance Payments” arising from acceleration of default. Further represented lender in the borrowers’ Ch. 11 bankruptcy case. Prevailed on summary judgment for plaintiffs who were promised preferred returns that defendants instead distributed to their shell companies in less than 2 years despite numerous dismissal attempts, including on all fraud counts. Rescued struggling Ch. 11 senior healthcare facility debtor by negotiating settlement with bondholders that honors lifecare contracts, provides debtor $5M in new investment, and reduces existing bond debt by more than 50%.I have been recognized for my relationship-building, client-facing and communication skills. At the AmLaw 100 firm, I served on the Recruiting & Hiring Strategic Committee and Diversity & Inclusion Committee, where I addressed D&I initiatives. I also served as the Summer Associate Hiring Attorney for the Chicago office.
