About Jean Carlos Rios

Throughout the years, I have developed a passion for learning and taking on challenges that may initially seem out of reach. Growing up in Puerto Rico and then moving to Buffalo, NY, without an ounce of knowledge of the English language when I was 8, was the first time I felt \"real\" pressure. Being completely unaware of my surroundings while at the same time not being able to communicate with the people around me was difficult at first. However, I quickly adjusted, and my passion for learning began. Now a bilingual individual, I am proud to have gone through that journey because it made me the man I am today. A man that is willing and able to take on challenges and opportunities to not only help myself but help the people around me as well. I have been a part of many different organizations and have learned/worked on many things. Starting my career as a Judging Intern, I learned how to review and analyze several business start-ups, organize information, host and facilitate pitch meetings, and communicate with judges through email and advisory calls. From there, I challenged myself to join a small company as a Ux/Ui design contractor since I learned the skill while working. Throughout that experience, I became a full-time Ux/Ui designer who worked closely with clients through the design of components to establish a design system for reusability, wireframed various designs for different design systems, and worked closely with developers to provide prototypes and specs through software like Invision. Currently, I transitioned into a new position as an Associate Technical Support Specialist whose main focus is to communicate. I am the product expert who serves as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance, creating documentation for our knowledge base and new releases, and communicating with the engineering team on different issues that customers see with our platform. As you can see, my life is full of learning and taking advantage of new opportunities. Preparing myself for new challenges has always intrigued me, as becoming the best version of myself has always been my main focus. Like I did when I was 8 years of age, I always wanted to become the best asset for myself and any person or organization needing my skillset. I believe that any and everything is possible through hard work and dedication, and I Pride myself in continuously proving that.
