Infectious diseases are still one of the most important cause of mortality worldwide. The department \"Microbiology and Infectious diseases\" develop research projects aiming at identifying novel diagnostic, prevention and therapy for tropical infectious diseases and highly pathogenic agents. Currently the department is highly involved tin the battle against recent pandemics such as COVID-19, Mpox disease, swiftly shifting in developing diagnosis, exploring long term immunity in patients and preparing for vaccine trials.
