Responsible for the planning, execution, approval, and administration of acquisition and assistance awards in support of USAID/Mozambique Resilient Economic Growth Office; Education Democracy and Governance Office; Program and Executive offices- Lead a team of four Acquisition and Assistance (A&A) professionals, including one institutional contractor- Mentor a newly hired Acquisition and Assistance Specialist in soliciting, negotiating and managing awards- Mentored and coached staff to navigate a complex maze of Federal and Agency regulations, provide quality customer service, and otherwise reach their individual professional development goals- Managed a portfolio of 15 active awards, including 8 awarded to local organizations, valued over $200 million- Played a key role in leading USAID/Mozambique project to build a Mission Director residence in Maputo by negotiating an Architect and Engineering (A&E) task order for essential oversight of the new residence design and construction contracts- Actively promoted flexible awards with appropriate milestones such as “Pay-for-results’ or fixed amount awards (FAA).
