ABOUT JEAN JP BARKHUIZEN
As a Police Officer with West Midlands Police, I am responsible for protecting the public, preventing crime, and upholding the law through proactive and reactive policing. I attend a wide range of incidents, including emergencies, public disorder, and safeguarding concerns, making critical decisions under pressure. My duties include conducting investigations, gathering evidence, making arrests, and supporting victims. I work closely with partner agencies and engage with diverse communities to build trust and improve safety. This role has strengthened my skills in communication, problem-solving, and resilience, while demonstrating my commitment to public service and maintaining high professional standards.I have been lucky enough to work with some of the best teams made up of the best people who drive a common goal with a shared vision. Since being a Police Officer, I have been trained in Taser, MoE, Public Order, Stinger and Drink and Drug Testing Procedures. This is along side ongoing Continued Professional Development.
