Onboard was a customer of mine at Observian. The consulting relationship turned into a friendship with the founders and I joined in January 2022 when the entire dev team was two people running on a DigitalOcean account.I brought four engineers with me from Observian and within a few months had a full engineering organization built out, mostly Observian veterans with a few new faces. My personal network ended up fueling hiring across the entire company too. About 80% of a 200+ person organization was a direct or indirect referral from someone I knew.We took a PHP monolith on DigitalOcean and rebuilt the entire infrastructure as a multi-account AWS ecosystem, migrating everything to containerized.NET applications running on EKS and Lambda. I personally stood up Amazon Connect from scratch to replace the Vonage call center. To give us a more flexible solution that could adapt and scale to our rapid growth.The team under my leadership built and launched a new Single Family Rental vertical called \"Scattered Bulk,\" an industry first. I also led technical due diligence for the PeakSpan fundraise and eventually the acquisition by Conservice.Today my focus is AI transformation, specifically making AI engineering a team sport and moving Onboard toward an AI-first way of working.About OnboardOnboard RS, Inc.(now Conservice Internet Management) manages end-to-end bulk internet and technology amenity programs for the real estate industry, helping property owners negotiate, deploy, and manage telecom contracts to improve resident connectivity and drive NOI.
