ABOUT JIM CAMPBELL

Having accumulated over 20 years of service, I now count myself as an \'experienced\' careers and employability professional. I am currently employed as Assistant Director (Career Management) within the Career Centre at the University of St Andrews. I have also worked at the University of Glasgow where my remit was to develop support and resources for international students. In this role I was instrumental in securing Scottish Government funding to deliver a series of virtual careers fairs which enabled students across Scotland to connect in real time with employers across target regions such as Greater China and South East Asia. I was also active within the International Research Universities Network (IRUN) and collaborated with colleagues at careers services across this European network to deliver country-specific support for students at Glasgow. Before Glasgow I worked as Careers Service Manager at the University of Stirling where I designed and delivered Scotland\'s first ever online credit-bearing career planning course. Throughout my time in higher education I have remained active in professional associations. I am currently a member of the Employability steering group of the European Association of International Education (EAIE) and the Internationalisation Task Group within the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) in the UK. Aside from careers and employability, I also spent 5 years as Student Services Manager at Abertay University in Dundee. In this role I line managed team managers within the advice and guidance, learner development, counselling and careers and employability sections of the Student Services.Special areas of interest and expertise are careers education, information and guidance; employability; Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), internationalisation, intercultural skills and student mobility.
