ABOUT JEREMY T.
In one year, I went from customer support to supporting the systems customers depend on. I am well read on the humanities and the latest open source tools available to developers and systems administrators. Five years on, I\'ve gone from a Sysadmin at a start up, to Associate Software Engineer to Software Engineer, to Development Operations Engineer, to Site Reliability Engineer. But what\'s in a name? A position by any other title ending in Engineer indicates my ability to adapt to organizational changes and being the kind of coworker you want around.A thoughtful and resourceful coworker, I understand the needs of the group and strive to accommodate my team by supplying them with the necessary tools for a productive, efficient workflow. I am also cognizant of the need to find inexpensive solutions to complex problems, and enjoy researching and implementing open source applications to fill those needs.A motivated learner, I became CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ Certified within one year. At home in either Unix style operating systems or Windows productivity suites, I am ready to assist in troubleshooting code or how to change the case of text you\'ve highlighted in Word. I am also experienced in various office settings, with an significant customer service background, allowing for better personal interaction with team members. Goal oriented with an emphasis on quality and accuracy, my extensive work background and skill set make me a prime candidate for inclusion on any Project Management team.I believe in the philosophies at the core of the DevOps movement, and especially embrace the concept of empathy. I believe communication of pain points between departments is paramount to achieving maximum efficiency, and making the overall work experience more enjoyable. The core idea I to which I ascribe that makes my job worth doing is knowing that I am solving problems for others and lessening their pain. I enjoy the challenge of software development, and work to better my abilities in being able to meet those challenges on a daily basis.
