About John Edwards

During my 7 years at Texaco I learned to handle the analytical NMR workload of an entire corporation - from oil exploration and refining to product manufacturing and field service and marketing support. In 1997, acting on an opportunity to outsource my function from Texaco along with the support of a contract for process NMR application development I founded my own NMR based company that provides analytical services and consulting to all sectors of industry. We also support several companies that are manufacturing permanent magnet based NMR systems for low and high resolution NMR analysis. We have been successfully in business for 22 years.As an application development company we have implemented over 35 online process NMR applications and aided in the development of NMR instrumentation in applications enabling process control and optimization in the petrochemical, petroleum, refining, food, and pharmaceutical industries. We have also developed an analytical NMR business (with 2 x Varian 300 MHz liquids NMR, a Varian 300 MHz solid-state NMR, 3 x TD-NMR systems with 10,20, 40mm sample, and 2 x 60 MHz multinuclear high resolution NMR systems) that serves over 300 customers in all fields of industry. We developed FTIR-ATR and NMR technologies for bench-top, at-line, and in-line analysis with Cosa-Xentaur and Aspect AI. We have consulted to a number of petroleum companies in the field of NMR applications and Process Analytical Technology (PAT).We fill a training void that has occurred over the past decade in the NMR laboratories of many companies. We have partnered with several engineering companies and are investigating the integration of complimentary process analytical technologies, such as FTIR-ATR, ESR, NIR, and NMR.We operate an application development and software company that services the development of fully automated NMR applications on high field NMR instrumentation and the latest generation of cryogen-free permanent magnet benchtop NMR systems.
