ABOUT JC DE VERA
I’m a social impact strategist and equity advocate driven by the belief that meaningful change happens when communities lead the way. With over a decade of experience across the nonprofit, public, and philanthropic sectors, I’ve learned that progress isn’t just about good strategy—it’s about deep collaboration, shared purpose, and the courage to reimagine systems that were never built for everyone. My work sits at the intersection of social justice, innovation, and community. I build partnerships, design strategies, and champion policies that amplify the voices of those most impacted by inequity. I’m passionate about creating space for new ideas and bold action—whether that means convening diverse teams, launching cross-sector initiatives, or helping organizations align their operations with their values.I earned my Master’s in Public Policy from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, where I honed my skills in research, data analysis, and equitable policy design. That foundation continues to guide how I approach complex challenges—with curiosity, rigor, and heart.Ultimately, my purpose is simple: to help create a world where Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color not only survive unjust systems but thrive beyond them—with access to the resources, opportunities, and connections needed to live with joy and possibility.
