   Weirwood is a DSL for defining controls that evaluate AWS resources and proving correctness via automated reasoning. It is designed to be easy to author, provide rule correctness, adapt to AWS’s evolution, and support all control types (detective, proactive, preventative).Brought SME expertise in security controls to AWS’s Weirwood Executive Leadership Team (S-team) initiative. Partnered with applied scientists and SDEs to shape the DSL into a scalable language for AWS Config managed rules, which back features in Security Hub, Trusted Advisor, Control Tower, and Audit Manager. Ensured the DSL addressed customer needs while balancing verified accuracy with rapid rollout of controls.• Rule Authoring at Scale – Led authoring of 235+ Weirwood controls. Enabled AWS Config rules to expand from 487 → 671+(38% growth) by driving a 10x increase in authoring velocity so new AWS services launched with functional controls.• Language & Tooling Evolution – Expanded a backlog of 1,300+ rule ideas by assessing AWS services to identify controls improving security, governance, and operational and cost efficiency.
