Most of my career has been spent in the space between creative work and business results. I tend to be the most analytical person in a creative conversation and the most creative in an analytical one, which means I spend a lot of time translating between teams that don\'t naturally speak the same language. At Custom Ink, I led Brand, Creative, SEO, PR, Broadcast, and several other functions for almost seven years. I repositioned the company from a niche \"group t-shirt\" provider to a category-defining brand for community-driven apparel and promotional products, delivering 16% CAGR in marketing-attributed sales across a period that included a pandemic and a significant market decline. I built the measurement frameworks that let us treat creative as a performance channel, co-authored the attribution systems the organization used to connect spend to revenue, and created a keyword valuation model that quantified the dollar value of key organic search positions. I also took a creative organization that was struggling to break through and turned it into a top-performing team in the company by connecting creative decisions to business outcomes. Through sustained mentorship and one-on-one development focused on financial and marketing acumen, I transformed the group into one that could articulate why their work mattered in revenue terms in addition to brand and emotional terms. Before Custom Ink, I led product marketing and e-commerce at GameStop/ThinkGeek, directed creative and SaaS product delivery at The Game Agency, and ran global B2C communications for Turtle Beach. I spent part of my early career as a copywriter at Capital One, creating marketing direct mail and other content for upmarket rewards prospects and customers.I\'m currently seeking VP, CMO, or Head of Marketing roles in-person, hybrid or remote, based in Fort Collins, CO.
