Input- Responsible for maintenance operations on 300+ datasets on CIM- Responsible for publishing of new datasets onto the CIM- Responsible for the maintenance and refinement of metadata for datasets on CIM- Reponsible for grooming technical tasks for the team. Output: • Implemented a OOP DRY approach to the maintenance operations by datasets\' triage processes into a one-stop module of readily applicable functions that solve common bugs. • Implemented a DRY OOP approach to team development that standardizes ETL development in Python with easily maintainable and well documented functions to perform tasks that repeat across datasets. • Developed 10+ ETLs in Python that automate weekly to monthly manual updates that liberated ~20 hours a month of technical capacity. • Maintained 300+ datasets in the Colorado Information Marketplace at data.colorado.gov. • Developed the following GIS map visualizations: https://data.colorado.gov/Energy/EV-Charging-and-Alternative-Fuels-Stations-in-Colo/fwyp-a5y7 and https://data.colorado.gov/Transportation/Scenic-Byways-in-Colorado-Map/ewqz-5hmi - Reverse-engineered outdated datasets whose update processes were lost from team member exits. Wrote documentation on process to allow less skilled developers to update these in less time. Outcomes: • The reduced time required to maintain smooth maintenance operations was enough to free up 50% of my capacity for another project to train and execute as an AWS Technical Analyst. • The standardized and well-documented python modules created have now lowered the requisite skills for implementing new ETLs and solving bugs to maintain smooth maintenance operations.
