Promoted from Director to Vice President. Manage and lead two teams with a total staff of seven with one team focused on near-term (next hour through 3 months) portfolio resource optimization and commodity risk management and the other team focused on long-term (3 months through 15 years) portfolio optimization, commodity risk management, compliance with NC’s renewable portfolio standard (RPS), and integrated resource plan. Additional focus areas include contract negotiation and risk management, deal structuring, commodity risk management hedging strategies, development of planning scenarios to achieve “net zero” by 2030, advancement of residential and utility scale demand response programs, special economic rate design and development to attract new loads while balancing risk, assisting our cooperatives to achieve their cost and community goals, PJM Reliability Pricing Model (RPM) resource bidding, supporting greenfield development of solar plus storage and stand-alone storage, lead the acquisition of three utility scale solar facilities which included tax advantage financing, development of a fifteen year plan to serve the top 10% of our load through DR/DER and Advanced Time of Use Rates (ATOU), and assist in developing innovative wholesale rate offerings including renewables to our members. Regular presenter at the company’s Risk Management Committee, Power Supply Committee, and Board of Directors meetings communicating complex industry issues.Key Achievements: Lead development of our fifteen year DR/DER plan focusing on self-serving the top 10% of load Lead development and started executing a plan to achieve a 50% reduction in CO2 as compared to 2005 by 2030 and achieve “net zero” by 2050 Lead development and launch of our Connect to Save (CTS) energy services marketplace delivering professionally installed smart thermostats and water heater controllers at low to no cost to our members

These teams are focused on leveraging our diverse power supply portfolio to deliver stable, predictable, and affordable power to our members across the state.
