Launched and led one of the Washington, DC’s most influential arts nonprofits, dedicated to cultural democracy and economic opportunity for independent artists. Produced the Capital Fringe Festival—DC’s largest performing arts festival and, for over a decade, the second-largest in the U.S—returning 70% of ticket revenue to artists. What began in a Columbia Heights group house grew into a multimillion-dollar organization with its own building, before returning to its nomadic roots while staying true to artist-first values. Today, Capital Fringe supports artists through initiatives like the Ed Tyler Fringe Touring Fund and continues to advocate for equitable, artist-centered infrastructure. Engaged artists and more than half a million audience members, generating $3.29M in artist revenue. Forged strategic partnerships with Arena Stage, Kennedy Center, Phillips Collection, Sasha Bruce Youthworks, and others.Designed and led all marketing campaigns—print and digital—reaching ticket buyers annually with cohesive, branded materials.Led fundraising for a multimillion-dollar capital project, securing public and private support, including negotiating a $2M bank loan to acquire and develop a multi-use facility in Washington, DC.
