About Jill Bowdon
As a former teacher and a parent of a child with dyslexia, I am passionate about ensuring that all students have access to effective instruction needed to learn to read. My \"north star\" as an education researcher is helping educators, school and district leaders, and policymakers find answers to their pressing questions about how to improve literacy instruction and reading outcomes for students. Sometimes this looks like designing rigorous randomized controlled trials or quasi-experiments. Other times this looks like bridging research to practice and sharing existing evidence through innovative technical assistance, coaching, tool development, and visually appealing dissemination. At American Institutes for Research, I lead our Literacy Hub and oversee a portfolio of literacy-related technical assistance and research projects and pursuits.
