ABOUT JODIE C. LEQ. BLACKADDER-WEINSTEIN

I am a Royal Air Force General Practitioner embarking on a PhD (Medicine) focussing on the use of Behavioural Science in the Primary Care environment to encourage positive patient lifestyle choices. I continue to undertake my clinical and educational role at RAF Cosford. My portfolio role consists of undertaking clinical general practice in both civilian and military settings as well as undertaking research, teaching GP trainees, occupational and aviation medicine. As well as my RAF role, I am a doctor for Aston Villa Women\'s Football Club. As an exercise and nutrition enthusiast who is evangelical about the importance of physical activity to improving health outcomes, I have completed the diploma in Sport Medicine, Exercise and Health and volunteer at sporting events including the London Marathon and Wimbledon tennis championships. My role as a GP has increased my interest in behavioural change and social inequalities and prompted me to complete my Masters in Public Health. I hope to find or develop a role that allows me to develop my interest in education, population health, research in the community setting while continuing to deliver patient care in the Primary Care setting. Outside of work I spend my time running (with my dogs or after my daughters) skiing, cooking and planning our next active family adventure (ideally including good food and skiing!)
