   Jayne Spies has been in the Claims Industry since 1993. She started off at Oklahoma Farm Bureau as an all-lines adjuster handling both personal and commercial lines claims. She then joined Homeland (Safeway) as Claims Manager supervising over 100 grocery store claims.In she joined Midlands Claim Administrators as a Claims Adjuster moving quickly up to Director of Claims/Assistant Vice President. She handled and managed Construction Defect, Inland Marine, Medical Malpractice, Law Enforcement, Employment Liability, Public Entity claims as well as other complex litigation matters.In 2015, she went in-house with Oklahoma Municipal Assurance Group, the Public Entity group where she had been managing claims for over 500 municipalities. Jayne was responsible for direct and indirect supervision of up to 12 claim handlers at a time.She has worked and supervised high exposure claims including wrongful termination, officer shootings, excessive force and jail deaths. She has been responsible for training and supervision of multiple adjusters and support staff. She has researched and worked with damage caps and immunities pursuant to various state and municipal laws. She has attended numerous mediations and trials with the authorities given by individual clients. She is a hard negotiator for her client while also considering the specific venue and total cost of defense in various stages of litigation through trial. Jayne worked with a local lobbyist when a state bill was introduced to raise the Tort Claims limits in Oklahoma. They were ultimately successful in defeating the bill, therefore leaving the damage caps unchanged.Jayne is very active in claims groups where she is a sought-after speaker. She is also on faculty at Claims College through Claims and Litigation Management Institute. She is an active volunteer with local food banks and was the recipient of the Volunteer of the Year award for the YWCA for her work with victims of domestic abuse and rape.
