ABOUT JAYNE HONGISTO

I am a seasoned insurance professional with over two decades of experience spanning underwriting, risk control, claims, and agency relationship development. My career has included roles with respected carriers such as Auto-Owners Insurance, Selective Insurance, Westfield Insurance, and J.M. Wilson Corporation (now part of Ryan Specialty), where I honed my expertise in commercial lines and specialty insurance.Since joining The Hanover Insurance Group in January 2021, most of my time has been working as a Senior Middle Market Portfolio Specialist, responsible for managing underwriting strategy, assessing financial risk, and collaborating across departments to ensure portfolio profitability and regulatory compliance.I hold a Master of Science in Risk Management and Safety from Eastern Kentucky University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Viterbo University. I also earned the Associate in Claims (AIC) designation and a graduate-level certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.I’m excited to be transitioning into a new specialty role as a Human Services Underwriting Specialist, where I’ll have the opportunity to support organizations that serve vulnerable populations. This work aligns with my passion for purposeful underwriting and my commitment to helping mission-driven clients thrive through thoughtful risk management.Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and exploring rugged trails with my two Great Pyrenees, Ziggy and Zoey. Whether chasing summits or sunsets, I find balance and inspiration in the outdoors.
