About Jay-Michael Baker

Jay is an adaptable professional with broad experience in city planning, digital marketing, brand development, technical writing, and public sector management. He is passionate about creating grassroots community-based engagement initiatives that affect healthy growth in communities and organizations. After graduating with a B.S. degree from CSU-Pueblo, he was selected for the 2008 class of the Leadership Program of the Rockies (LPR) and later that year, appointed a John Jay Fellow with the John Jay Institute for Faith, Society and Law (JJI). His experience and involvement with these organizations refined his commitment to making communities stronger and more vibrant from the perspectives of culture-building, Biblical ethics, and economic stability. Jay is a proven leader and manager of both small and large teams. He is an effective project manager overseeing diverse projects from inception to completion. Jay’s skills include policy and technical writing, graphic design, community engagement, architectural design review, and city planning and community development theory and practice. Jay has written or designed over 100 brochures, reports, and local government policies. He has managed up to 60 employees at a time and oversaw logistics programs for FedEx Ground. In other roles, Jay has worked in nonprofit development creating sustainability through long-term planning and legacy giving.Jay is a single father to Leonardo. He is also a dog-lover, raising an Alaskan Klee Kai named Kamoa.
